Reviews
The food was excellent and prepared with fresh ingredients. This place, as are many restaurants these days, is hampered by a deficiency in the number of servers. Our server was at all times very pleasant, but clearly spread too thin among too many tables. Unfortunately, there’s a point where the wait for the food and for simple requests becomes so long as to negatively impact the dining experience. That being said, the food was excellent, the atmosphere (outdoor seating for us) was very nice, and I would go back there again.
Great place. Good food with stylish (boujee) decor. Located in downtown Clark’s summit. Nice outdoor seating area when the weather plays ago. Great drink menu.
I highly recommend this place for any occasion but will be especially nice for a date night or brunch.
The service single handedly killed the experience for this dinner visit. I would give no stars if I could.
2 couples for dinner 6pm on a Friday.
2 ordered Flat Iron Steak
1 ordered Ribeye (From the Range item on the menu)
1 Burger with fries
They were not busy when we arrived. The waitress took a long time to bring drinks. She took a long time to come back to take our food orders. Our food took forever to come out. But worst of all; our food was brought out by some other wait staff and they didn't make sure we had everything or ask if we needed anything else. Our waitress never came back to the table to check on drinks or anything until LONG after our plates were empty. We were allowed one drink per person, no refills the whole time.
For the food; the Flat Iron Steak dinners were pretty good and cooked properly to medium-rare. The Ribeye was the thinnest ribeye we've seen and it was ordered medium-rare and was very done (aka overdone and dry.) The burger looked good but was flavorless. It was ordered medium-well and was over cooked. They didn't even have any sauces other than ketchup and Dijon mustard (which was not normal Dijon, it had horseradish) available.
After we were done eating we sat and waited, and waited, for our waitress to come back to ask for our checks. She came back with one and we asked if it could be split. She responded with "you didn't ask for that". The glare from her was insane. She came back plopped them down and when asked to wait for our cards huffed. Even though they were out and ready to go.
When she came back with our paid receipts for signature she set them down and walked off quickly. One of the cards was MISSING and the waitress was nowhere to be found. The card was found dropped on the walkway from the door to outside.
Delicious, every bite. I got the fish tacos. Sweet potato fries and mini taco appetizer. Along with a delicious dessert ! Service was great and Waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Looking forward to going again.
What more can I say!? I love State Street Grill. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for years and the food is always spectacular. The menu changes frequently but not too often that you can’t enjoy your favorites over and over again. The food is really fresh, which I love, oh, and the drink menu is really nice as well. In the winter time they have heated igloos, which are gorgeous, just make sure you, make reservations for those. For regular seating, you rarely need reservations, which is awesome especially for a place that has such a popular brunch. The outside seating area is cute, they have a bar and televisions outside with heat lamps in case it gets a little chilly. And the inside atmosphere is very Cozy. I will say some areas of the restaurant are too dim for my liking. The staff are always nice, and they know the menu like the back of their hand, which is really helpful because sometimes there are so many good things to pick from you could use a little help! The price is reasonable and even though street parking is limited. We never have an issue with finding any.
Julie took the time to share about the restaurant's history! I loved hearing how the owner interacts with his staff and provides support by stepping up to help when needed! An owner that takes the time to bartend, bus tables, cook, or wash dishes is definitely an empowering individual. The ambiance and food was incredible... We will definitely return!
Outstanding, flavorful, fresh, quality food that will blow you away each time. State Street Grill never fails to impress! Everything is so good even as simple as a salad. Vegetarian and gluten free options available. The menu does change but it’s always exceptionally delicious!
Indoor and outdoor seating available. Both experiences are very ambient and dazzling in their own way. Reservations are best.
Amazing food every time we go! At least one of us (my husband and I) get the bacon wrapped meatloaf every time we go. It's so good!
